The City of St. Thomas has been made aware that homeowners have been approached and asked to provide water samples for analysis. In some cases, the person asking for the sample has indicated that they are “from the City of St. Thomas”. In most of these cases, the person asking for the sample is not a City of St. Thomas employee, but is representing a private company that sells home water treatment equipment. These companies use a variety of methods to convince homeowners to purchase expensive home water treatment systems.
